You will not believe how many people have tried to argue that either Star Wars or Star Trek is better than the other. Sure, one could say that Star Trek is just a TV series and that the first one only had three seasons, because people didn't like it, but I would argue that the world was not ready for Star Trek when it came out. The notion of havbing a mixed crew of not onlu black whites and asians (sorry Sulu), but also mixed in races (Vulcans rock). Looking back, because of the technology we have now, we would say the visual effects of Star Trek (ST from now on) are primitive, but back then, people would not have seen space flying around and new planets and other species. We can also look at the influence of the origional ST: THEY NAMED A SPACE SHUTTLE AFTER IT FOR GOODNESS SAKE!!! If that's not influence I don't know what is. And there are also six series (if you count the animated series) and there are ten movies (just FYI). Now Star Wars (SW). The origional trilogy is fabuluos and the recent movies... ... well... let's just say they would've been better without JAR JAR. But some of the new moview were good (actually only EPIII was good except they should have kept Mon Mothma in and taken all of Padme's dialouge out. Both have their good things and their bad things, but I think that they are both really good for the most part. atay tuned for more rantings |

Well this is my first live journal entry and I guess i just say whatever I want and my friends read it. So I'll probably tell all of my friends that I have a live Journal so that they can be my friends (hopefully). Well I'm going to go and watch BOSTON LEGAL (almost better then the Colbert Report and The Daily Show) and then I'll probably study for my Latin test tomorrow. |
